Loan Lender Reviews (South Africa)

Honest, plain-language reviews of the NCR-registered lenders on our panel — rates, amounts, requirements and who each one suits best.

Quick answer: Every lender reviewed here is registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and lends within the National Credit Act. How we review lenders

We only list credit providers that are registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and lend within the National Credit Act. For each lender we look at:

  • Cost — the interest rate and fees, checked against the legal NCA maximums.
  • Loan range — the minimum and maximum you can borrow, and the repayment terms available.
  • Speed — how quickly an approved application is paid out.
  • Eligibility — who can apply, and which groups are excluded.
  • Trust — NCR registration and transparency of fees (we remove any lender that charges upfront fees or breaks the rules).

We may earn a referral commission when you apply through a link on this site. This never changes the rate you pay and does not influence whether a lender passes our checks — a lender either meets the standards above or it isn't listed.

Frequently asked questions

Are all these lenders legitimate?

Yes — every lender on this page is registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR). You can verify any lender's registration free at ncr.org.za. Never pay an upfront fee to receive a loan; that is always a scam.

Does it cost anything to apply through LoanNow?

No. Using LoanNow is 100% free. The lender pays us a referral commission if you take a loan — it never adds to your cost.

Can I apply to more than one lender?

You can, but space out your applications — each formal application creates a credit enquiry on your record. It's smarter to compare first and apply to the one that fits best, or use our matching form which doesn't run a credit check.

LoanNow.co.za is a comparison and referral service, not a lender. We may earn a commission when you apply through links on this site — it never changes your rate. All lenders shown are registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR).
